How much does Forecaster HQ cost?+
Forecaster HQ has a free plan with 10 forecasts per month, interactive maps, shareable links, and a forecaster profile page. The Plus plan is $49/month (or $39/month billed annually) and adds unlimited forecasts, full analytics, custom branding, subscriber notifications, verification reports, and up to 500 email subscribers.
Is there a free plan?+
Yes. The free plan includes 10 forecasts per month, interactive map drawing, shareable links with auto-generated social images, a forecaster profile page, email subscriber capture, and view counts for the last 48 hours. No credit card required.
What's included in the Plus plan?+
Plus includes everything in Free, plus unlimited forecasts, full analytics with traffic sources and CSV export, custom branding (colors, logos, OG templates), email notifications to subscribers, unlimited map templates, post-storm verification reports, and up to 500 subscribers.
Can I upgrade from Free to Plus later?+
Yes. You can upgrade anytime from your billing page. Your forecasts, subscribers, and all data carry over instantly. There is no migration or re-setup required.
What happens to my forecasts if I downgrade?+
Nothing — your forecasts, subscribers, and profile stay exactly as they are. Downgrading only limits future publishing and analytics. You never lose data you've already created.
Is there a student discount?+

Do I need a Stripe account to accept paid subscribers?+
Yes — ForecasterHQ uses Stripe Connect to process payments. Setting up Stripe is free and takes about 5 minutes. You only need it if you want to offer paid subscription tiers; free forecasting does not require Stripe.
