NRG Stadium has a retractable roof. Whether it is open is decided close to kickoff and is not published in advance, so treat the wind as a possibility rather than a certainty.
How NRG Stadium is oriented
The field runs along a bearing of 178°. A wind blowing along that line lengthens kicks toward one end and shortens them toward the other. A wind at right angles to it pushes every kick sideways regardless of which way you are kicking.
Measured from the mapped outline of the field itself, matched on the shape of a gridiron rather than on how it happens to be labelled.
