...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in New Mexico...

Rio Puerco Near Bernardo affecting Socorro County.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Rio Puerco near Bernardo.

* WHEN...Until late tonight.

* IMPACTS...At 19.5 feet, At the initial flood stage of 19.5 feet, the water level in the Lower Rio Puerco will begin to threaten several homes and structures in the village of San Francisco between Interstate 25 and the Rio Grande. Further rises in water levels would begin to flood the village of San Francisco. The last time the water level reached 19.5 feet in the Rio Puerco near Bernardo was August 10 2006.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 AM MDT Saturday the stage was 19.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 19.8 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 19.5 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.5 feet on 08/10/2006. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

What to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
