What opens

Pick a station on the fishing page and follow "Publish your edition". The form opens with the station's day: the next high and low tides from NOAA CO-OPS, the nearest buoy's wind and seas, the marine forecast, and the page's own read of the conditions on its five-step scale, from stay in to good conditions.

This is about conditions for being on the water - wind, seas, the tide - not whether anything bites. Same rule as the page.

What you add, in order

  • The day - today, tomorrow or the weekend.
  • Conditions - stay in, rough, marginal, workable or good conditions. The page's scale, so your call and its read sit on the same line.
  • Best window - optional. "Dawn through the flood, 6 to 9 AM."
  • Your note - the wind against the tide, the inlet, when to be back through.

    • When it locks

    At 4 AM on the day you called, local time. Edit until then.

    The mark

    Against the page's read for that day: agrees, stronger (a more favourable read), softer, differs.

    Where it appears

    On the station's page beside the page's read; on your page; in your followers' email. The share image is the station on the coast with the day's tide curve.
